Braindance
Dekdestroy, Mario Consunji, Huang
1F Projects presents BRAINDANCE, a third-space event that promotes listening as a way of expanding local sound & music culture in a relaxed environment, featuring Dekdestroy, Mario Consunji, and Huang.
Multi-speaker setup from the defunct XX XX’s club system and 1F Projects. The night also features a video installation by Type Distort Decay — returning from her earlier show Resonance Within the Bones with a shifted focus: three artists, three sonic presences, each distinct.

Artist Bios
Dekdestroy
Derek Tumala is a Manila-based transdisciplinary artist working across art, science, and emerging technologies — lit sculptures with dichroic film, video-mapping installations, weather-reactive digital gardens, raves staged inside museums. His practice tracks climate, ecology, and world-making, with exhibitions at MCAD, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and Art Basel Hong Kong, and residencies at the Delfina Foundation and Salzburg Global. As Dekdestroy, his eclectic soundscape runs the scale from ambient to techno — often inside Kaput, the art-and-rave collective he co-founded in 2022.
Huang
A veteran of Manila’s electronic dance scene, Erick Ong has been quietly central to the city’s nightlife for over a decade — DJing under aliases including Huang, Mulan, and Vader, with a long-running residency at Black Market and opening sets for visiting acts like Kode 9, Daedelus, Pinch, Jim Masters, GaslampKiller, and Addison Groove. He co-founded the now-defunct underground venues XX XX, Black Market, and B-Side.
Mario Consunji
Mario Consunji is a Manila-based artist and producer working across electronic music and sound design. He’s known for his earlier minimal synth project Big Hat Gang, which debuted on Number Line Records in 2011, though his work has since moved away from song form toward ambient and sound. His most recent record, Landscapes, released under his own name, originated as an audiovisual piece staged at Kaput 8 in collaboration with Derek Tumala — treating ambient not as background but as a core mode of expression.
Type Distort Decay
Jois Tai is one half of Inksurge, the Manila design studio she has run with Rex Advincula since 2002 — work spanning branding, packaging, illustration, and furniture, featured in design publications across Singapore, the US, Spain, and Germany. As Type Distort Decay, she creates hallucinatory images from layers of 2D geometry, an act she describes as “an exploratory typeface workout.”
