Artist Bios
Big Hat Gang (Mario Consunji)
The minimal synth project of Manila-based artist and producer Mario Consunji, which debuted on Number Line Records in 2011. Big Hat Gang sits at the synth-pop end of his catalogue; later work under his own name has moved toward ambient and sound — the recent record Landscapes originated as an audiovisual piece staged at Kaput 8 in collaboration with Derek Tumala. Mario also co-runs 1F Projects.
Eazyhead
Manila-based garage-psych project headed by Trees Ortega. Their sound deconstructs genre, surfacing the subconscious through layered fuzz and experimental noise — closer in spirit to Les Rallizes Dénudés or The Brian Jonestown Massacre than to anything tidy. Personal Echo Chamber (2024) was released on Oliver Ackermann’s Dedstrange label.
Sewage Worker (Pow Martinez)
The noise alias of Manila artist Pow Martinez (b. 1983), better known for an expressionistic painting practice that blends bold colors with demonic, mutant-like figures into cartoonish, dystopian canvases — a satirical reading of pop culture, the art market, and American soft-power in the Philippines. Recent solo exhibitions include Junk DNA at Silverlens New York (2025), Pow Martinez at Silverlens Manila (2024), and Grandiose Delusions in D Minor at Yusto/Giner Madrid (2024); he received the Ateneo Art Award in 2010.
As Sewage Worker, Martinez works DIY spring instruments, the Maranao kulintang, and synthesizers into experimental, ambient, industrial, and krautrock-adjacent noise. VOL 1 is on Bandcamp.
