Ga•Ga•Ga is a Tokyo-based Japanoise duo formed by Gil Kuno and Radio Ensemble Aiida. Kuno’s broader practice — a long-running interest in the tension between regularity and irregularity, traced through video, sculpture, and sound — finds a noise-music outlet here, in dialogue with Aiida’s radio and electroacoustic work.
Trobol Kontrol is the project of Jon Romero, who relies on practicing unplanned, producing accidental music. Frequently reinforced by circuit-bent transistor radios, an Audio Producer Console, zero-input method, and various devices and gadgets, he delivers speculative beats, glitch, and noise that compromise the upside of rhythm and melody — trying to knock down a form that is abnorm.
Co-presenters of the evening, Ruthless Sound Collective is a sound and music crew active in Manila’s experimental and electronic music programming.
