Tarsius
Manila-based duo Tarsius, combines electronic music and live instru- mentation to produce dance tracks influenced by big beat, house, tech- no, psychedelia, electro, and indie dance. Composed of Diego Mapa on sampler and Jay Gapasin on drums, their live sets mix electronic sounds and live percussive elements known for their slow burning, tension build- ups, and euphoric energy.
In 2020, Tarsius released their sophomore LP called, “Culture Cow” and has been hailed as one of the best Southeast Asian releases of the year by NME Asia.
The band released a few hundred vinyl copies of “Culture Cow” in 2022 and was sold out in a week.
In 2021, Tarsius collaborated with Stones Throw Records (US) artist, Vex Ruffin with “Disco Manila” and was used by Nike and Manila Community Radio for their Join Forces campaign in 2022.
Both artists pushed their collaboration further when Mapa and Gapasin remixed Vex Ruffin’s “Tapang Naman” and was released in the “Lite Ace Frequency Remixes” by Stones Throw.
In 2021, Lisbon Portugal based electronic artist, GPU Panic remixed Tarsius “Culture Cow” single, “Agos” and was released in Disco Texas Records in the same year.
Tarsius name was placed in the international map when their track !Nightlife” was played by London based producer Four Tet on the BBC Radio 1 and Boiler Room. He also played !Baluga 2000” (Baluga 2000 E.P 2015) on Rinse FM U.K.
Electronic duo, Dark Sky (Monkeytown Records) included Tarsius track," !AM” (More Rice Records 2017) in one of their mixes on NTS Radio in 2017.
Tarsius in their earlier years, remixed a track from U.K. electronic act La- dytron. The cut is included in a Record Store Day special release called, !Gravity Seducer Remixed” in 2013. They also have been remixed by Swiss DJ and Producer, Manuel Fischer; which is included in Southeast Asian label, More Rice first vinyl release called !Igado” E.P. (More Rice 2017).
In Manila, they#ve opened for international acts such as Four Tet, Toro Y Moi (US), Ningen OK (Japan), Max Tundra (Warp Records U.K.), Free The Robots (US), and Delorean (Spain).
Tarsius has graced international shows and festivals such as Intastella Burst presents Numberline Records in Hong Kong 2012, Clockenflap 2014 (Hong Kong), Mai Asia Festival 2015 (Osaka, Japan), Wonderfruit 2015 (Pattaya, Thailand), More Rice Presents: No Rice No Life Tour (Bangkok, Thailand), Malasimbo Festival 2015 (Puerto Galera, Philip- pines), Bime Pro, Bilbao, Spain, and their first headliner show, Tarsius Live in BKK 2019, de Commune, Bangkok.

LONER, a musician hailing from Manila, draws strong inspiration from the dance music of the '90s and '00s, embracing the rhythms of two-step and drum & bass. Singing in both Tagalog and English, LONER infuses his music with quiet and cool melodies, enhanced by lush synthesizers, crafting a distinctive dreamy and lively sound.
